Gary Oldman and Amy Adams both had an amazing year, and they’re showing no signs of stopping. Two acting masters will join their forces in the upcoming psychological thriller The Woman in the Window.

The story centers on a former child psychologist Anna Fox who has a dangerous habit of mixing alcohol and medication. Severe agoraphobia takes a toll on her and she spends months locked inside her house. Anna starts spying on her neighbors through her apartment window and ends up witnessing a horrible crime. She has a hard time convincing the police she’s telling the truth and eventually starts doubting herself.

The film is an adaptation of the best-selling debut novel from author A.J. Finn. Tracy Letts wrote the script for the big screen and Joe Wright will serve as the director. Oldman’s casting doesn’t come as a surprise since the two already worked together in the past. The English actor played the lead in Wright’s World War II drama Darkest Hour and won an Oscar for his portrayal of Winston Churchill.

When it comes to The Woman in the Window, Oldman will play the patriarch of the mysterious family. The movie also stars fellow Oscar winner Julianne Moore and up-and-comer Wyatt Russell. It’s slated for an October 4, 2019 release.
