After being Hollywood’s most famous bachelor for years and dating some of the most beautiful women in the world, including Krista Allen and Elisabetta Canalis, George Clooney finally settled with human rights attorney Amal Alamuddin in 2014. The couple is now happily married and proud parents of twins Ella and Alexander.
In a recent interview with David Letterman, George Clooney revealed how he met Amal in 2013. “I didn’t leave the house,” said Clooney. “No, it’s the wildest thing. A mutual friend of ours said, ‘I’m stopping by and can I bring my friend?’ I was like, ‘Of course.’ And I got a call from my agent who called me and said, ‘I met this woman who’s coming to your house who you’re gonna marry.'”
To make things even better, Clooney’s parents were there and they have met their future daughter in law without even knowing it.
“And the funniest thing was my mom and dad were visiting, so my parents were there, and we just talked and we stayed up all night talking and then, you know, I got her email address ’cause she was going to send me some pictures of my parents and then, we started writing and I didn’t really, I didn’t know if she wanted to go out with me,” – he added. “I just thought, you know, we were buddies.”
After the long conversations via emails, George and Amal didn’t think much about tying the knot. The pair got engaged in April 2014 and got officially married in September 2014, at a Venetian palace Ca’ Farsetti. Amal gave birth to the twins, daughter, Ella, and a son, Alexander, in June 2017.
