Gillian Anderson may be joining Netflix’s hit series, The Crown.

Anderson, best known for her role as Special Agent Scully in The X-Files is being considered for the role of UK’s first female prime minister.

Anderson could be playing former prime minister Margaret Thatcher, who served as prime minister between 1979 and 1990, in season 4 of the hit Netflix series, as sources say she is a front-runner among those considered.

The Daily Mail reports that sources close to the production say that “Gillian is an excellent actress, so it would be a real coup to get her.”

Season three of The Crown will feature a newly-revamped cast, that has mostly been announced — Olivia Colman, Helena Bonham Carter, and Tobias Menzies will take over the roles of Queen Elizabeth, Princess Margaret, and Prince Philip respectively. According to creator Peter Morgan, while season three covers the Wilson era, season four will focus on Thatcher.
