Green Book helmer, Peter Farrelly, has found his next project.

Farrelly will direct and adapt The Greatest Beer Run Ever (working title), a film based on the book The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A True Story of Friendship Stronger Than War by Joanna Molloy and John “Chickie” Donohue.

The pic tells the true story of “Chickie,” who in 1967 left New York to track down and share a few beers with his childhood buddies in the Army… while they were fighting in Vietnam.

According to Deadline, co-writing the script is the Oscar-winning director with his Green Book co-scribes Brian Currie and Pete Jones. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Andrew Muscato are producing.  Don Granger, president of production, will oversee the project for Skydance.

Green Book was nominated for five Academy Awards and won three, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali. A box office success, the film brought in $314.7 million worldwide, including $85 million domestically.
