Green Day Releases New Song as an Intro to NHL Match

As part of a partnership with the National Hockey League, Green Day has released its new single ‘Fire, Ready, Aim” just before the match between the New Jersey Devils and the Philadelphia Flyers. The band is also set to perform live in the NHL All-Star Game in St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday, January 25.

This is the second track from the band’s upcoming album. The first track, which is the titular song of the album Father of All, was released last month.

NHL Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President Steve Mayer said that “Green Day is the perfect band for the NHL. Their music fits so perfectly with the energy, speed, and power that we witness on the ice and each and every night. We are so excited to start this partnership with the NBC Sports open. It was so much fun to shoot and we think our fans will love it.”

The next Green Day album, which includes the new single, is due to be released on February 7, 2020. Later that year the band will go on the Hella Mega Tour, together with Weezer and Fall Out Boy. The tour will take the bands to Europe, the UK, and America.
