Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine) and Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread) have joined Misbehaviour. Also tapped to star in the Keira Knightley Miss World movie, are Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard), Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill) and Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey).

The five new cast members will star opposite leads, Keira Knightley, Gugu Mbatha Raw, and Jessie Buckley.

Misbehaviour is based on the real-life events of the 1970 Miss World contest. The pageant’s live broadcast was interrupted when the newly founded Women’s Liberation Movement stormed the stage claiming that beauty competitions demeaned women. The show, which was at the height of its popularity with more than 100 million viewers globally resumed, it became part of history as the first black winner of the contest was crowned.

The film is directed by BAFTA winner Philippa Lowthorpe from an original script penned by Rebecca Flynn and Gaby Chiappe. The film is produced by Suzanne Mackie and by Sarah-Jane Wheale.

Shooting is currently underway in London.
