Fifteen season in, Grey’s Anatomy brings us Derek’s 4th sister.
Multiple outlets confirm that Amy Acker, has been cast to play Kathleen Shepherd, sister to Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey). Very little is known about Kathleen other that she is a doctor like the rest of her siblings and specializes in psychiatry.
Acker will appear in an episode that focuses almost exclusively on Caterina Scorsone’s Amelia Shepherd. Scorsone told TVLine that the Amelia-centered episode is more than just “let’s follow Amelia to the neuro lab. It’s definitely a little standalone,” she said. “It’s almost like a little movie on its own.”
Throughout ABC’s medical drama, which has passed the 300 episode mark, we got to see three Shepherd sisters. We’ve briefly met Liz (Neve Campbell) and Nancy (Embeth Davitz) and of course there’s Amelia (Scorsone), who moved to spinoff Private Practice and later returned to Grey’s as series regular.
Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays on ABC.
