IT: Chapter Two is getting closer and more and more details about it are coming to light. It turns out we were almost treated to a special guest star – director and producer Guillermo del Toro.

Speaking with Slash Film, the director of IT: Chapter Two Andi Muschietti said that he wanted to pay tribute to del Toro who was an executive producer for his 2013 debut film Mama by offering him a cameo in the upcoming horror sequel.

According to him the plan almost came to fruition. “I wanted Guillermo in the movie,” said Muschietti. “We were this close. He was going to play the janitor that Ben runs into when he’s running away from Pennywise.”

In the same interview, writer Gary Dauberman, addressed the length of the movie, which at 2 hours 49 minutes is irregular for a horror film. “Yes, there were lots of concerns about the length. But we always had the motto of, if it feels long, then it is long. We watched it and – I’ve watched a lot of hour and a half movies that feel like four hours. So if we’re watching a movie that’s two hours and forty minutes and it doesn’t feel like that, that was our win.”
