After looking at the Spotify numbers of some of the biggest recording artists in the world, Guinness World Records picked one person who stands above everyone else. They named The Weeknd the most popular artist in the world after looking into Spotify’s data.

This news comes shortly after The Weeknd set two new Guinness World Records, reaching the most monthly listener on Spotify with 111.4 million and becoming the first artist to cross 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

The Weeknd previously acknowledged his record-breaking successes and picked up two Guinness World Records certificates in 2016—the most streamed album on Spotify in 2015 and most consecutive weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 by a solo male artist.

The Weeknd’s latest success comes on the heels of the recently released “Die For You” remix featuring Ariana Grande. After the original song went viral on TikTok, Grande hopped on the remix and helped The Weeknd propel this song to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Miley Cyrus came in second in Guinness World Records’ analysis with 82.4 million monthly listeners, and she’s followed by Shakira (81.6 million), Ariana Grande (80.6 million), Taylor Swift (80.2 million), Rihanna (78.5 million), and Ed Sheeran (77.5 million).
