If the finale of the eighth season of When Calls the Heart left you in shambles and you can’t wait to see what happens next, we’ve got some good news for you. We’ll soon be able to revisit Hope Valley since Hallmark renewed this beloved series for Season 9.

Michelle Vicary, executive vice president of programming at Crown Media Family Networks, announced the show’s renewal in an official statement and praised it for constantly climbing in ratings and keeping its status as one of the top-rated shows in cable after almost a decade.

“We are proud to have When Calls the Heart as a central part of our programming, it continues to captivate audiences with its amazing cast and storylines of love, community, and optimism and we are excited to continue the journey in Hope Valley for season 9,” said Vicary.

When Calls The Heart is based on Janette Oke’s book of the same name, and it premiered on Hallmark in 2014. It centers on a passionate young teacher Elizabeth Thatcher, who is assigned to teach in a tiny coal country community after a lifetime of being used to big-city comforts. Erin Krakow plays the lead role, while the rest of the cast includes Jack Wagner, Pascale Hutton, Kavan Smith, Andrea Brooks, and Chris McNally.
