Halsey is no stranger to giving us honest and raw songs that really tug at our heartstrings, and she’s done it again with her latest single. Listening to “Nightmare” will make you want to scream from the top of your lungs – just as the young singer does in her new video.

Halsey joined forces with Hannah Lux Davis, who directed her wildest video to date, which gives us major punk rock vibes. It doesn’t hurt that she convinced Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry and model Cara Delevingne to make a cameo.

The music video for “Nightmare” sees the 24-year-old singer rocking a series of different outfits and hairstyles, and walking the line between the pop star we know her as and the punk princess she’s apparently trying to become.

Halsey detailed the writing process on her Twitter, and dedicated this song to “young women sweating mascara tears, lightning in their eyes, throwing elbows and raising fists, screaming till the veins in their necks raise under warm skin.”

“Nightmare” should be featured on her third studio album, but she’s yet to share its title and release date.
