Harrison Ford spent the past four decades portraying Indiana Jones, but he’s finally ready to hang up the hat. The beloved action hero confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will mark his last appearance as the cinema’s most iconic archeologist.

Ford recently set down with Total Film to discuss his future in the Indiana Jones franchise and said he’s happy to go out with a bang.

“This is the final film in the series, and this is the last time I’ll play the character… I had been ambitious to do this film for 10 years, and there finally came a time when we all committed to that. It was a joyous moment for me. I think it’s a rare situation that I find myself in,” he told Total Film.

Ford also said he anticipates this will be the last time Indiana Jones appears on film, adding that he won’t be involved in the Indiana Jones TV show if comes to fruition.

Ford made his debut as the whip-smart archaeologist in Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981, and The Dial of Destiny marks the fifth and final installment in this series. It will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next month before being released in theatres on June 30.
