Former One Direction member Harry Styles is entering the television business. The 24-year-old singer is set to serve as an executive producer for CBS’ new comedy Happy Together, which is loosely on his life.

Happy Together will star Damon Wayans Jr. and Amber Stevens West as a married couple who have their idyllic suburban life turned upside down when an aspiring young musician, played by Australian actor Felix Mallard, moves in with them.

The idea for the show is based on the time Harry Styles spent living with The Late Late Show With James Corden producer Ben Winston and his wife Meredith in suburbs of London. Styles, who was coming of his success on X Factor, needed a place to stay for a few weeks but ended up living in Winstons’ attic for 20 months. Winston will also serve as a producer for Happy Together.

The cast of the sitcom recently spoke with People and said that the “Sign of the Time” singer is really excited about the project.

“I got to chat with him when were first deciding to do the show and he’s really excited,” – said Mallard. “He’s really keen. He knows that it’s a story based on his life, and he gets to produce a TV show which is fantastic for his career. So I think he really, really does care.”

“I feel like he’s a busy boy,” Wayans Jr. added. “But I’m happy that he slapped his name on this to help legitimize the story that this is based on.”

According to CBS, the only the premise of the show is based on Harry and Ben’s experience and everything else in the sitcom is purely fictional.

“Although the series is inspired by when Ben and Harry lived together, that’s where the reality ends. The show is not based on real-life experiences and characters,” said the network in a statement.
