The Gilded Age made quite a splash when it premiered on HBO last year, and its second season is just around the corner. HBO gave us a taste of things to come with a new teaser trailer, in addition to dropping first-look photos and revealing the release date for Season 2.

The Gilded Age takes us back to the period of immense economic change, when huge fortunes were made and lost, and a fierce rivalry between old and new money brewed in the high society.

This acclaimed series explores this historical era by focusing on the Russells, a fiercely ambitious family, determined to reach the highest echelons of New York, but struggling to win over the members of “the old guard”, starting with their neighbors Agnes van Rhijn and Ada Brook.

The Gilded Age was created for HBO by Downton Abbey’s Julian Fellowes, and its star-studded ensemble cast includes Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Louisa Jacobson, Denée Benton, Taissa Farmiga, Harry Richardson, Blake Ritson, Thomas Cocquerel, Simon Jones, Jack Gilpin, Cynthia Nixon, and Christine Baranski.

Season 2 teaser sees Coon’s Bertha Russell trying to shake things up and establish new order after finally proving her worth to New York society, but she realizes there’s still a lot of work left to be done.

The Gilded Age will return for its second season on October 29, and it will feature a total of eight episodes.
