The latest season of Search Party ended on an epic cliffhanger, and fans of the show held onto hope it’s not the end. HBO Max answered their prayers by renewing the show for another season and inking an overall deal with co-creators Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers.

Search Party centers on a group of millennial friends from New York City whose lives turn upside down after they got involved in a search for a young woman they barely know. Alia Shawkat, John Reynolds, John Early, and Meredith Hagner play the lead roles in this critically acclaimed satirical dark comedy.

This series was created by Charles Rogers and Sarah-Violet Bliss, who have signed a two-year overall deal with HBO Max and credited this streaming service for renewing interest in Search Party, which originally aired on TBS.

“It feels like it’s received a new wave of life, and we are just so grateful for that because we spent two and a half years unsure of what the future would hold for the series. And now we get to look back at that transition as something that worked in our favor,” said Rogers in a statement.
