WarnerMedia finally announces the launch date and pricing for its forthcoming streaming service.
While it has been known for a while that HBO Max was set for a spring 2020 release, WarnerMedia entertainment president Robert Greenblatt announced on Tuesday that the new streaming service will debut in May.
The company also revealed that the service will cost $14.99 per month, and existing subscribers of HBO Now will get access to HBO Max for no additional charge.
The pricing is higher than all other platforms with Netflix’s pricing at $12.99 for two streams, Hulu at $5.99 with ads, Disney Plus at $6.99 and Apple TV Plus at $4.99.
Per Variety, at launch, HBO Max’s lineup is set to offer subscribers 10,000 hours of content.
