Many beloved shows have been given a spin-off treatment in the past few years, and Pretty Little Liars is the next one in line. HBO Max just dropped the first teaser for Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, revealing that this teen mystery drama is set to premiere next month.
The first taser is pretty cryptic and doesn’t reveal any plot details, but it will give you a major nostalgia overload with a creepy version of the Pretty Little Liars theme song playing in the background. The teaser also revealed that the series will premiere on July 28 on HBO Max.
The official logline describes this series as a “coming-of-age, horror-tinged drama” taking place miles away from Rosewood, in a brand-new town, with a new generation of Little Liars. The action is set in Millwood, a tiny blue-collar town that was ripped apart by tragic events twenty years ago.
“Now, in present day, a disparate group of teen girls – a brand-new set of Little Liars – find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin committed by their parents two decades ago…as well as their own,” reads HBO Max’s official logline.
Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin stars Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, Malia Pyles, and Maia Reficco as the new generation of Little Liars. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Riverdale) and Lindsay Calhoon Bring (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) co-created the series for HBO Max.
