The Idol is one of the most talked-about new shows coming to HBO this year, and we finally know when we’ll get to see it in the flash. The new trailer for Sam Levinson’s musical drama is here, and it reveals the show’s release date.

The Idol was created for HBO by Euphoria’s Sam Levinson alongside Reza Fahim and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye. The show will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next month, before the first episode premieres on HBO on June 4.

The Idol centers on an aspiring pop idol Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), who’s on a quest to reclaim her place among the stars in the aftermath of a nervous breakdown. Her passion for music is reignited once she meets a mysterious nightclub impresario Tedros (The Weeknd), but their relationship ends up taking her to even darker places.

In addition to The Weeknd and Depp, this series will also star Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Jennie Kim, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, and Hank Azaria.

HBO gave The Idol a six-episode order for the first season, directed in full by Sam Levinson after Amy Seimetz departed the series due to creative differences.
