HBO shows often prove it can be addictive to follow the lives of utterly despicable characters, and none of them does it better than Succession. Fortunately for us, this epic drama filled with unexpected twists and turns will return for another season.

Succession centers on members of a dysfunctional affluent family, who are in charge of running one of the biggest media conglomerates in the world. It premiered in 2018 and immediately won over the critics, and went on to receive five Emmy award nominations, including the nod for the coveted best drama trophy.

Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Drama Programming, announced the renewal in a press release and said she’s elated that this show resonated so powerfully with audiences.

“In today’s world where the intersection of politics and media is increasingly prevalent, Succession presents an especially piercing look behind the curtain of this elite, influential, and cutthroat community,” concluded Orsi.

The second season of Succession started airing on HBO on August 11th, and it sees the stars Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Strong and Sarah Snook returning to their respective roles.
