HBO Reveals “Game of Thrones” Season 8 Premiere Date

Rejoice Game of Thrones fans! There’s finally an official start date for Season 8!

HBO announced Sunday that the eighth and final season of its hit show will premiere on April 14. The exact date of the April premiere, which was confirmed by the cabler last fall, was confirmed just before the Season three premiere of True Detective

The announcement was made, much to fans’ liking, with a new official tease. The chilling teaser features Jon Snow, Aria and Sansa of House of Stark. The three roam in the family’s crypt when the come upon stone status of themselves.

This is the latest teaser in HBO’s roll out of GoT‘s final episodes. Just last week HBO released a promo, which featured the first-ever footage released from the last season. That footage featured the epic meeting between Sansa, Lady of Winterfell and Daenerys Targaryen.

The eighth season will feature six supersized episodes. The last episode of the series is said to be epic — was shot over 55 nights in three locations.

Game of Thrones returns April 14.
