After a long hiatus, True Detective is finally coming back for its fourth season and the first look at new characters will give you chills. HBO just gave us a glimpse of things to come in True Detective: Night Country by sharing the first image of Jodie Foster and Kali Reis in character.

Night Country will take us to Ennis, Alaska, where six men that operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanished without a trace. Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) must dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice to solve the mysterious case of their disappearance.

True Detective: Night Country comes four years after the show’s last season, and the VP of HBO Programming, Francesca Orsi, said they’re excited to pick up where they left off.

“We are tremendously excited to return to the True Detective franchise and to be working with the multi-talented Issa López, whose singular vision for her Night Country installment will be beautifully realized with Jodie Foster and Kali Reis in the starring roles,” said Orsi in a statement.

True Detective: Night Country will also star John Hawkes, Christopher Eccleston, Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett, Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, Isabella Star Lablanc, and Joel D. Montgrand. Its release date is yet to be confirmed, but it’s expected to premiere later this year.
