After years of anticipation, the Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon is just around the corner and the more we learn about it, the more excited we are! HBO just added some more fuel to the fire by dropping a new trailer and character posters for this highly-anticipated fantasy drama.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon takes place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of the rise and fall of House Targaryen, culminating in the Dance of the Dragons which led to its demise.

The latest trailer brings Westeros’ most powerful houses together, as Targaryens try to stay in control and write their name in history books because “history doesn’t remember blood, it remembers names.” The two-minute clip gives us glimpses of the war that Targaryens will wage to stay on the throne, while still leaving a lot to the imagination.

House of the Dragon is set to star Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Fabien Frankel, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, and Sonoya Mizuno. It was created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, who serves as showrunner with Miguel Sapochnik. It will premiere on HBO on August 21.
