The constant clash between the old and new money made us fall in love with The Gilded Age, and the end of this battle is nowhere in sight! The second season of this period drama recently ended its run, and HBO was quick to renew this series for its third season.

Created by Julian Fellowes, The Gilded Age did a great job capturing the drama and intrigue of New York City’s high society of the 1880s. The series centers on the “new money” Russell family, who are trying to break into New York’s rigid high society and prove they’re just as worthy of approval as “old money” families, including their neighbors the Van Rhijns.

The Gilded Age boosts an impressive ensemble cast, which includes the likes of Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Cynthia Nixon, Christine Baranski, Louisa Jacobson, Denée Benton, Taissa Farmiga, Harry Richardson, Blake Ritson, Thomas Cocquerel, Simon Jones, and Jack Gilpin.

The quick renewal of The Gilded Age doesn’t come as a huge shocker, given its critical acclaim and strong ratings. Francesca Orsi, EVP of HBO Programming, said they’re proud of what Julian Fellowes and The Gilded Age family have achieved and thrilled to continue this grand tale for a third season.
