We’ll have to wait until January 2020 to find out who will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but we can mull it over now as 16 nominees have been announced. The nominees this year come from several genres varying from soul acts like Whitney Huston to German synth acts like Kraftwerk and speed metal legends Motörhead.
Only artists who have released their first commercial recordings 25 years ago or more are eligible to be nominated for the Hall of Fame. this year’s list of nominees includes 9 first-timers who were never nominated before. It is interesting to note that some of last year’s nominees that didn’t make the cut like Rage against the machine did not find their way back to the list. Other artists who are eligible but were not included are Jeff Buckley, Oasis, Weezer, Kate Bush, Aaliyah, and Daft Punk.
You can vote for your favorite artists on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame site. The induction ceremony will take place in May 2020.
