He’s Back! MCU Welcomes Spider-Man Back Into the Fold

Spider-Man is officially returning to MCU.

In case you have been living under a rock, Spider-Man recently left MCU after the superhero movie giants were unable to come to an agreement with Sony, who own the rights to Spider-Man. Tom Holland’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man was subsequently snatched away from the Avengers and plans for a “Far From Home” sequel were put on hold.

Now, Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced that Tom Holland will be reprising his role as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This means that a third movie is happening and that he will be involved in Phase 4.

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” Feige said in a statement.

“Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

Hooray!
