Jake Lacy will star opposite Zoë Kravitz in Hulu’s High Fidelity reboot.

Lacy has been set as a series regular opposite the previously announced Kravitz in the small-screen adaptation of Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel and the 2000 feature film.

While the film starred John Cusack as the story’s lead, the ultimate music lover and record store owner who’s obsessed with pop culture and Top Five lists, this reimagining will be told from a female point of view through Kravitz’s character.

Lacy will play Clyde, who is described as effortlessly cute, if not the coolest guy in the room. A recent N.Y. transplant from L.A., he’s still trying to figure out how to navigate the city. Despite his lack of interest in music, he reveals a funny and open side that intrigues Rob (Kravitz). But he might prove to be just like all the other guys… or so it seems.

The reboot hails from writers Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka. The series was initially developed at Disney+ but moved to Hulu following Disney’s acquisition of Fox assets, which gave the former a 60% stake in Hulu.
