High School Musical: The Series is one of many highly-anticipated projects coming to newly launched streaming service Disney+ this fall, and we finally know what to expect once the Wildcats are back.

The first trailer for this promising musical series is finally here, and it’s taking us straight back to the East High School. Instead of simply remaking the beloved movies from the original franchise, this show will introduce a whole new set of characters trying to set up their own production of High School Musical.

Showrunner Tim Federle unveiled the trailer alongside HSM star Corbin Bleu at a recent D23 Expo fan convention and revealed what we can expect once this series premieres on November 12th.

“You don’t want to remake High School Musical because it’s still perfect. What I wanted to do was capture the real spirit of theater kids. They’re not going to lip-sync, they’re going to sing live. It’s the real deal. The entire series is all about finding your tribe,” said Federle.
