House of the Dragon is one of the biggest hits that HBO has in store, and they’re betting big on its future. Just days before the Game of Thrones spin-off returned for its second season, HBO officially confirmed we’ll be getting Season 3.
HBO’s head of drama Francesca Orsi announced the renewal of this acclaimed epic fantasy drama, and said they’re “in awe of the dragon-sized effort the entire team has put into the creation of a spectacular season two, with a scope and scale that is only rivaled by its heart.”
She praised its co-creators George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal for reaching new heights with the phenomenal second season, along with incredible executive producers, cast, and crew.
Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke are a part of the ensemble cast that made House of the Dragon a success story, along with Matt Smith, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Matthew Needham, Sonoya Mizuno, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Ewan Mitchell.
House of the Dragon returned for its eight-episode second season on HBO on June 16. The show’s next chapter will continue telling the tale of the devastating war of succession between rivaling clans of House Targaryen, known as the Dance of the Dragons.
