Hulu Cancels “Castle Rock” After Two Seasons

Sissy Spacek and André Holland in "Castle Rock"

Castle Rock won’t be returning for a third season. Hulu has canceled the psychological horror series after two seasons.

The series was based on the works of Stephen King including Misery and Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption.

Andre Holland, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgard, Melanie Lynskey, Scott Glenn, Jane Levy, and Terry O’Quinn starred in the first season. The second season starred Lizzy Caplan, Tim Robbins, Yusra Warsama, Barkhad Abdi, and Matthew Alan.

Castle Rock hailed from executive producers and showrunners Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason. JJ Abrams, Mark Lafferty, Ben Stephenson, Liz Glotzer, and King also served as executive producers. The show hailed from Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros Television.

Several limited series inspired by King’s works are in the works or have aired over recent years including Hulu’s 11.22.63, HBO’s Overlook, Peacock’s Mr. Mercedes, CBS All Access’s The Stand, and HBO’s The Outsider.

Castle Rock is the latest series to get canceled at Hulu and joins High Fidelity, Harlots, Future Man, and Runaways.
