All hell broke loose when Meryl Streep was cast in Only Murders in the Building, and we finally know what to expect from her! The first teaser for the show’s third season is here, and it gives us a first glimpse of her role in this acclaimed murder mystery comedy.
The teaser trailer opens with the show’s leading trio Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez reuniting to solve another crime, and they’ll be in pretty good company this time around! The new teaser also introduces new characters played by Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep.
To be fair, Rudd already appeared in the final minutes of the second season, as a theatre actor who seemingly has a feud with Martin’s Charles-Haden Savage. He ends up dying while performing on stage, leaving the show’s leading trio with another case to crack.
There’s more mystery surrounding Streep’s role in the series, but it’s safe to assume she’ll be one of the actors in the Broadway debut of Short’s Oliver Putnam. The trailer shows her during a table read with the rest of the actors in the play, including a character played by the newly cast Ashely Park.
Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building kicked off production in January, and it still doesn’t have an official release date.
