Hulu Introduces New Pinhead in First Trailer for “Hellraiser” Remake

Jamie Clayton in "Pinhead"

Horror remakes and reboots are not a novelty in Hollywood, and Hellraiser is the latest classic to get a 21st-century makeover. The first trailer for this highly-anticipated horror movie is here, and it sees Jamie Clayton take on the role of the iconic villain Pinhead.

According to its official synopsis, Hellraiser centers on a young woman struggling with addiction, who “comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.”

In addition to Clayton as Pinhead, the film also stars Odessa A’zion, Brandon Flynn, Goran Višnjić, Drew Starkey, Adam Faison, Aoife Hinds, Selina Lo, and Hiam Abbass. It was directed by David Bruckner, who previously helmed horrors The Ritual and The Night House.

Plans for a Hellraiser remake started taking shape back in 2007, but it took 15 years to actually make it happen. Several directors and screenwriters tried to tackle the source material before Hulu officially gave it a green light.

Hellraiser will have its world premiere at Beyond Fest in Santa Monica, California on October 4. It will start streaming exclusively on Hulu on October 7, in addition to debuting on Disney+ in certain territories.
