Hunter Parrish has been cast in The CW’s Jane the Virgin spinoff.

Parrish, who’s best known for his role on Showtime’s Weeds, has been tapped to star as Jane the Novela’s male lead opposite Jacqueline Grace Lopez.

Jane the Novela focuses on Lopez’s character Estela, an art curator who finds out a shocking secret that changes everything and forces her to live a double life. The first installment is set in a Napa Valley vineyard, where Parrish will play Felix, the rich kid who co-owns the vineyard with his mother Renata (Marcia Cross). Per the character’s official description, Felix “is Napa’s most eligible bachelor and heir apparent to his family’s winery. But though Felix’s future looks bright, he is tortured by the secrets of his past.”

The spinoff hails from Jane creator Jennie Snyder Urman and star Gina Rodriguez. Penning the script is Jane scribe Valentina Garza. The pilot will be directed by Jane helmer Brad Silberling.

Parrish’s other credits include roles on This Is Us, The Good Wife, Quantico, Good Girls Revolt and The Following
