Mother Mary is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated original musicals in Hollywood right now, and its cast is getting more amazing by the day. Euphoria star Hunter Schafer will join Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel in this pop music epic.

Mother Mary hails from writer-director David Lowery, and it marks his third collaboration with A24 following the success of The Green Knight and A Ghost Story. It’s been described as an epic pop melodrama about a fictional musician (Hathaway) and her complicated relationship with an iconic fashion designer (Coel).

Schafer will join this amazing duo in the role of Hilda, the assistant of Coel’s character. Her star has been on the rise since she made her acting debut as Jules Vaughn on HBO’s hit teen drama Euphoria. We’ll soon get to see her in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and she’s also attached to Yorgos Lanthimos’ upcoming film And, also starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons.

Mother Mary will soon start filming in Germany, with Lowery serving as one of the producers. Jack Antonoff and Charli XCX are set to write and produce its original songs for the film, while the official score is being composed by Daniel Hart.
