It’s just a matter of time before Legend of Zelda got its live-action adaptation, and many fans expressed a wish to see Hunter Schafer in this role. Euphoria actress opened up about this fan casting in a recent interview and said it would be cool to play this iconic character.

Schafer is currently busy promoting The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes alongside its stars Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, and Josh Andrés Rivera. The film’s marketing campaign was given an interim agreement by SAG-AFTRA before the actors’ strike finally came to an end earlier this week.

In an interview with Variety during the film’s recent premiere in London, Schafer admitted she’s aware she’s often been mentioned as fan casting for Zelda and revealed how she feels about the idea of playing this beloved character.

“That would be so cool. I love the game, personally. I played it as a kid and I still play it now. Who knows! That would be pretty cool,” said Schafer.

The Legend of Zelda is Nintendo’s second most successful franchise after Super Mario, and the studio recently confirmed they’re plotting a live-action adaptation alongside Sony Pictures. This project is still in the early stages of development, and there is no word yet about who would play Zelda.
