“iCarly” Revival With Original Cast Members Set at Paramount+

Miranda Cosgrove , Jerry Trainor, and Nathan Kress in "iCarly"

Nickelodeon’s iCarly will be coming back to the screen at Paramount+.

The original series stars Miranda Cosgrove (Carly), Jerry Trainor (Spencer), and Nathan Kress (Freddie) will be appearing in the new version of the series with Jay Kogen (Nickelodeon’s School of Rock, The Simpsons, and Frasier) and Ali Schouten (Diary of a Future President, Champions, and Merry Happy Whatever) developing the series.

The original iCarly aired from 2007-2012 on Nickelodeon for six seasons and 97 episodes. The show centered around a group of best friends who create a webcast while dealing with their everyday life adventures. The show was extremely popular and it broke ratings for Nickelodeon.

It’s not surprising that the show is airing on Paramount+ instead of Nickelodeon as major media companies are trying to build their streaming offerings. Some streamers have programmed similar shows like NBCUniversal’s Peacock launching the sequel series Saved by the Bell with many original cast members reprising their roles.

Paramount+, which is the rebranding of CBS All Access that will start in early 2021, will combine original content with shows from CBS, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, Paramount Network, and Nickelodeon.
