It’s been three years since Imagine Dragons released an album, and they’re finally gearing up for a comeback. Their fifth LP titled Mercury – Act 1 is on the way, and they teased its release with a new single “Wrecked”.

Mercury – Act 1 will hit the shelves on September 3rd, serving as the follow-up to the band’s 2018 album Origins. The recently released single “Wrecked” has been preceded by the two lead singles “Follow You” and “Cutthroat”, released side by side back in March.

“Wrecked” is one of the most emotional songs of Dan Reynolds’s career. It’s been inspired by the passing of his sister-in-law Alisha Durtschi Reynolds, whom he described as a beacon of joy and strength.

“This song was my way of dealing with it all, as music has always been my refuge. No longer being a man of fervent faith, I can only hope that she hears it somewhere in a place where she is healed and no longer in pain. This song is my wish for eternity with those that I love,” said Imagine Dragons frontman in a statement.
