Disney has Indiana Jones 5 set for release on July 10, 2020, but you shouldn’t get your hopes high to watch whip-wielding professor of archeology on that exact date. According to several media outlets, including Variety and Entertainment Weekly, the fifth installment in the Indiana Jones film series has been delayed.

Filming of the movie was supposed to start in April 2019 in the United Kingdom, but has reportedly been pushed back several months and could even see a year-long setback. Sources close to the situation have said that some of the cast members have been already notified about the filming schedule change.

The main reason for Indiana Jones 5 delay is the script. There is still no final draft, with Jonathan Kasdan, son of the original Raiders of the Lost Ark writer Lawrence Kasdan, being attached to the project. David Koepp previously passed on the chance to pen the script for the movie.

Still, it looks like Indiana Jones fans shouldn’t be worried about the involvement of director Steven Spielberg and actor Harrison Ford, both reportedly remain committed to the project.

The thing that causes a bit of worry, however, is that this isn’t the first time Indiana Jones 5 has been delayed. The original release date for the movie has been previously set for 2019.
