“Insatiable” is Coming Back to Netflix for Season 2

Debby Ryan in "Insatiable"

Insatiable is one of Netflix’s most talked-about shows in recent memory, and the popular broadcasting service found a way to reward its success. The twisted teen drama will be coming back for Season 2 in 2019.

Insatiable tells the story of a bullied teenager who turns to beauty pageants as a way to exact her revenge against those who did her wrong. Disgraced coach sees her potential and takes her under his wing, but quickly realizes he’s in over his head.

This series was created by Lauren Gussis, known for her work on Showtime’s series Dexter. It was based on a New York Times article “The Pageant King of Alabama” by Jeff Chu. This series bombed with the critics but apparently attracted strong viewership. That’s probably why Netflix decided to let it return for another season.

Disney star Debby Ryan took the lead in this dark comedy, a few years after leaving her child-star past behind. She rose to prominence thanks to the role of Bailey in The Suite Life on Deck. It didn’t take her long to get a Disney show of her own. She played the titular character in Jessie, alongside Skai Jackson and Peyton List.
