“Insecure” to End Its Run with the Upcoming Fifth Season

Yvonne Orji and Issa Rae in "Insecure"

Issa Rae gave us one of the best HBO comedies in recent memory with Insecure, but all good things must come to an end. The fifth season of this show is currently on the way, and it will serve as the final chapter of this incredibly funny and relatable story.

In an official statement announcing the end of Insecure, the actress and creator of this show said she feels “blessed beyond measure” to bring the characters’ stories to an end and thanked HBO for their support over the years.

“Prentice and I are so grateful that HBO believed in our show from the beginning and kept faith in us to see our vision through the end. We always planned to tell this story through five seasons, but we couldn’t have made it this far without the tremendous support of our audience,” stated Rae.

Insecure follows the adventures of a modern-day African-American woman, as she tries to navigate life, love, and friendship in Los Angeles. In addition to Rae, it also stars Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, Lisa Joyce, Natasha Rothwell, and Amanda Seales. Since its premiere in 2016, the show was met with critical acclaim and received numerous award nominations.
