We have been dreaming of getting a third Mamma Mia film and it might be coming true!

It has been almost five years since we last saw Donna, Sophie, Sam, Harry, and Bill on the Greek island of Kalokairi. The events of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again showcased Donna as a young woman and illustrated how she met the three men in her life.

The pandemic put plans for a third movie on hold indefinitely, but the director of the 2018 hit, Ol Parker, has hinted that the possibility hasn’t entirely slipped through our fingers…

“Judy Craymer, the genius producer behind the musical and the first two films, always plans for it to be a trilogy. That’s all I can say,” he teased to Screen Rant. “The first one made an enormous amount of money, and I think we made a fair amount too. I know that there is a hunger for a third, and I know that she has a plan. Wouldn’t it be lovely?”

Yes, it would!

Not to mention that, in the interim, ABBA released a whole album with 10 brand-new songs!

Amanda Seyfried and Christine Baranski have both said they would return as Sophie and Tanya, respectively, so here’s hoping producers don’t shut them down.
