It’s been over a decade since the hit horror film Orphan came out and it’s finally returning to haunt our dreams. Isabelle Fuhrman is set to come back as Esther in the chilling prequel Orphan: First Kill and Paramount finally dropped the trailer for this highly-anticipated film.

Esther’s terrifying saga continues in this thrilling prequel, and here’s what it has in store, according to its official logline:

“After orchestrating a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility, Esther travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. Yet, an unexpected twist arises that pits her against a mother who will protect her family from the murderous child at any cost.”

In addition to Fuhrman, Orphan: First Kill also stars Julia Stiles as Katie Mauerova, the mother of a missing young girl that Esther (whose real name is Leena Klammer) is impersonating. She quickly realizes that something is off with her “daughter” and goes on to discover her dark past.

The supporting cast includes Rossif Sutherland, Hiro Kanagawa, Matthew Finlan, and Kennedy Irwin as the young Esther and Fuhrman’s body double. Orphan: First Kill will stream exclusively on Paramount+ starting on August 22, in addition to being released in select theatres.
