Issa Rae and LaKeith Stanfield have been tapped to star in Universal’s The Photograph.
The two will star side-by-side in the Stella Meghie-helmed feature. The film is based on an original script by Meghie who made her directorial debut in 2016 with Jean of the Joneses. She is also on board to executive produce alongside Rae. Will Packer will produce with James Lopez under his company Will Packer Productions.
The Photograph is described as a romantic drama centered on intertwining love stories in the past and present.
Rae has starred in HBO’s Insecure. You can see her next in the upcoming comedy, Little as well as The Lovebirds. Stanfield starred in The Girl in the Spider’s Web and Sorry to Bother You. You can see him next on Netflix’s Someone Great.
