Bill Hader, James McAvoy, Jay Ryan, Jessica Chastain, and Isaiah Mustafa in "IT: Chapter Two"

27 years after the events in the first film, IT is coming back to terrorize the small town of Derry and it seems like he is not going to hold back. IT: Chapter Two will officially get an R rating.

According to the reports, the reason for this rating is “disturbing violent content and bloody images throughout, pervasive language, and some crude sexual material”.

Jessica Chastain, one of the film stars, talked about the film on a panel in San Diego Comic-Con. “I love horror films”, she said. “I love Carrie, and I said, ‘Let’s make Carrie on steroids.’ And that’s what we did and it literally tortured me because I didn’t realize that it would be that way the whole movie”.

Hints about the extra level of gore in the film were dropped for quite some time now, and Chastain herself revealed in the past that it contains some of the bloodiest scenes she has ever seen. the first film was rated 15 in the UK which is equivalent to an R rating in the US. The sequel is yet to receive a rating.

The anticipated sequel will hit the theaters on September 6th. It stars Chastain as Beverly Marsh, James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough, Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon, Andy Bean as Stanley Uris, Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom, and James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak. Bill Skarsgard who portrayed the terrifying Pennywise in the first film will continue to scare us also and the kids from the first film will return too.
