J. Lee to Direct & Star in “Wednesdays”

J. Lee will direct and star in a new dark comedy titled Wednesdays.

Wednesdays is set to be The Orville star directorial debut.

According to Deadline, the project is loosely based on Lee’s personal experiences. Wednesdays follows Gabe played by Lee, who on the surface seems like a put-together OK guy in his thirties,  but then he discovers therapy. Gabe sees his therapist every Wednesday to work through some deep-rooted issues when he meets a 9-year-old kid, Alec (Cooper Friedman) who also sees a psychologist in the same building. When Alec convinces Gabe that his mom forgot him at the office, the two go on a misadventure that will help Gabe find his truth and help Alec find his worth.

Wednesdays also star Seth Green, Michael Mosley, and Emmy Raver-Lampman as Gabe’s estranged perfect match. Serving as exec producers are Lee and Stephen “Dr” Love.

Production is slated to begin this month.
