Just in case there was any doubt that Jack Black is a comedic genius, he now has an award to prove it.

The School of Rock actor is set to receive the award for Comedic Genius at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards which takes place next month.

The honor means that the 52-year-old comedian follows in the footsteps of previous winners Sacha Baron Cohen, Melissa McCarthy, Kevin Hart, and Will Ferrell.

Although Black is known for making audiences laugh in films like Kung Fu Panda, the new Jumanji franchise, and The Holiday, his comedic prowess extends past movies. In 1994, he and Kyle Glass formed the comedy rock duo Tenacious D which has released four albums and even won a Grammy Award.

Tick, Tick… Boom! star Vanessa Hudgens will return as the host of this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards on June 5.
