Jack Black is no stranger to starring in holiday movies, and he’s getting ready to do it again! Black will star in the upcoming Christmas comedy Dear Santa, which will reunite him with the Shallow Hal directors, Bobby and Peter Farrelly.
According to its official synopsis, Dear Santa will follow “a young boy, who in writing his yearly note to Santa, mixes up the letters and sends it to Satan instead.” Filming is already underway, and Black teased the project by posting a photo that shows him posing with some Christmas decorations on social media.
Bobby Farrelly will produce the project, and he’s producing it alongside his brother Peter Farrelly. The duo previously directed several films by each other’s side, including Dumb and Dumber, Me, Myself & Irene, There’s Something About Mary, and Shallow Hal, which starred Black.
In addition to Black, Dear Santa will also star Robert Timothy Smith, Keegan-Michael Key, Brianne Howey, Hayes MacArthur, PJ Byrne, Jaden Carson Baker, and Kai Cech.
Before this film hits the theatres, we’ll mostly get to hear Black voice characters in several upcoming animated films, including The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Kung Fu Panda 4. He’s also planning to tour with his comedy music group Tenacious D over the summer.
