Someone has just paid a lot of money for the ability to recreate the infamous “Here’s Johnny” scene from The Shining. Entertainment Weekly reports that the axe wielded by Jack Nicholson during the iconic scene was sold in an auction for a whopping 209,000 dollars.

Based on a Stephen King novel, the 1980 horror film directed by Stanley Kubrick follows Jack Torrance, played by Nicholson, a writer who gets a caretaker job and moves with his wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and his son Danny (Danny Lloyd) to a remote hotel during the winter. Stranded during a snowstorm with no option to leave the place, Jack starts to lose his sanity and threatens the life of his wife and son. In one of the climactic moments of the movie, Jack hacks through a door with the axe while chasing Wendy.

The axe was sold in London for 170,000 pounds – four times the estimated value at the Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction. Other Hollywood memorabilia sold were the Batsuit worn by Michael Keaton in Tim Buron’s Batman, Russel Crowe’s armor from Gladiator, the Holy Hand Grenade from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, a pistol and silencer from GoldenEye, William Wallace’s sword from Braveheart, and the lightsaber of Samuel L. Jackson from Revenge of the Sith.
