AMC’s series adaptation of Anne Rice’s beloved novel Interview with the Vampire found its lead. The network recently revealed that Game of Thrones star Jacob Anderson is boarding the project to play the role of Louis de Pointe du Lac.

Interview with the Vampire, which also stars Sam Reid as Lestat de Lioncourt, is set to premiere in 2022. The first two episodes will be directed by Alan Taylor, who previously collaborated with Anderson on Game of Thrones.

Rice’s novel follows a 200-year-old vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac as he shares his life story with an unnamed reporter. He describes how he was turned into a vampire by Lestat de Lioncourt at his own request and the events that led him to regret that decision.

Interview with the Vampire was previously adapted into a 1994’s movie of the same name starring Brad Pitt as Louis and Tom Cruise as Lestat. The film, directed by Neil Jordan, went on to receive positive reviews while becoming a box office hit.

Jacob Anderson rose to prominence after portraying Grey Worm, leader of Unsullied, on GOT. After HBO’s hit series wrapped up in 2019, Anderson kept a low profile and only has British sci-fi series Doctor Who among his recent acting project. He did, however, release a music album under the stage name Raleigh Ritchie in 2020.
