Playing Superman is a dream come true for most young actors trying to make a name for themselves in Hollywood, but not Jacob Elordi. The Euphoria star recently revealed he was asked to audition for Superman: Legacy and explained why he decided to pass on this opportunity.

Elordi admitted he doesn’t see himself starring in a superhero movie in a recent interview with GQ and revealed he rejected an audition for James Gunn’s tentpole Superman: Legacy.

“They asked me to read for Superman. That was immediately, ‘No, thank you.’ That’s too much. That’s too dark for me… At this stage in my life, I don’t see myself having any interest in that. I like to make what I would watch, and I get very restless watching those movies,” explained Elordi.

David Corenswet was eventually cast as Clark Kent in Gunn’s Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. This superhero blockbuster will premiere in 2025, but Elordi already moved on to other projects in the meantime.

Just this year, we watched the Australian actor star in acclaimed indies Saltburn and Priscilla. He’s also attached to the thriller He Went That Way, dramas On Swift Horses and Oh, Canada, and the upcoming third season of the teen series Euphoria, set to premiere on HBO in 2025.
