Guillermo del Toro is getting ready to put his own spin on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and he found a perfect partner in crime! Euphoria star Jacob Elordi will join Del Toro’s upcoming adaptation of the iconic horror novel in the role of Frankenstein’s monster.

Elordi joins the star-studded cast of this project, which also includes Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, plus Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz in mystery roles. This film will also feature Felix Kammerer (All Quiet on the Western Front), Lars Mikkelsen (The Witcher), David Bradley (Game of Thrones), and Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth) in supporting roles.

Guillermo del Toro is writing, directing, and producing this film from Netflix, following their successful collaboration on several projects, including the Academy Award-winning animated movie Pinocchio. Frankenstein draws inspiration from Mary Shelley’s seminal novel about egotistical scientist Victor Frankenstein, who brings a monstrous creature to life after an unorthodox scientific experiment.

Elordi is stepping in for Andrew Garfield, who was forced to leave this project due to strike-related scheduling conflicts. Euphoria actor is adding Guillermo del Toro to an impressive list of directors he’s worked with in recent years, after starring in Emerald Fennell’s psychological thriller Saltburn and Sofia Coppola’s biopic Priscilla just last year.
